How to be ready for the first day of school

My school starts again in about two weeks and I have a habit of leaving everything to the last minute so I thought I would share with you guys what I am going to be doing and also some things that I did last year.

  1. Set your alarm a little earlier  I start doing this about two weeks in advance this way your body will get back into its natural clock and you will feel more awake when you get up.
  2. Make sure you have your uniform - In my school we sadly have a dress code and this is; black skirt/trousers, shirt, navy blazer, school tie, black cardigan/jumper and a white shirt. Make sure you have all of your uniform (that's if you have a uniform) I would suggest laying it out the night before you have to go to school.
  3. Have a look through your old jotters - Over the summer you will have forgotten probably everything that you learned so I would suggest that you take a look over your old jotters/textbooks to refresh your memory.
  4. Get all of your school supplies you need - I would suggest that you make a list of all the supplies you need and get a pencil case because that's an easy way to organise your stationary.
  5. Get a planner - A planner is a good way to note down all of your homework, tests and exams also it is good to write down if you have any rehearsals at school or anything like that.
I hope these tips will help you get ready for school and comment down below what else you would like to see on this blog.

Holiday Essentials

So I'm going on holiday a week today and I am so it. I just cant wait to get there and if you live in the UK the you will know that it doesn't really feel like summer just know. I thought I would just share some of the things that I cannot live with out on holiday. Comment some of your holiday essentials down below.

Sun glasses - these are essential so that you can actually see where you are going in the sun.

Sun cream - obviously you need lots of sun cream to make sure you don't burn and also to keep your skin as healthy as you can when exposed to the sun.

Makeup setting spray - This always comes with me as if I do put on makeup then it will stay put easier.

Bobby pins - I cannot live without these, my hair just doesn't agree with me on holiday so these are perfect for getting it out of my face.

a Cute pair of sandals/flip flops - I mean they are normally the comfiest thins ever which are the best for walking around during the day.

How to Study

Hello at my school there is a lot of people out of my school on study leave in preparation for their exam. So here are some study tips that I use.

-Turn off all your electronics and DONT TOUCH THEM !!!!!

-Study in 30 - 40 minute intervals with about 10 minute breaks. This way your brain will have time to soak in the information

- Find a good studying spot, make sure it is comfortable and quiet

- Make flash cards. These are an easy way to remember things.

-Don't wait till the last minute! If you have lots of time then do a little a day instead of a lot at once

These are some study tips that I use and find they work for me.

Breakfast Ideas

Recently I haven't been eating any breakfast on weekdays but this year from now on I am determined to start eating breakfast as it will help wake me up in the morning. So here are some breakfast ideas that I have started eating.

Yogurt Parfait

What you will need: Granola, Yogurt (I find that greek yogurt taste best), fruit (I normally use strawberries and blueberries)

Method: Put a bit of granola at the bottom of the cup, now add a bit of yogurt, then fruit, then granola, and carry on the pattern until the cup is filled.

Smoothie

What you will need: Fruit (eg; strawberry and banana), Liquid (eg; juice, yogurt)

Method: Chop your desired fruits into small chunks and place into the blender (make sure its filled right to the top), now add any liquid so its shows about half way on your blender, blend and pour into a cup.

Fruits and Oats

What you will need: Oats, Milk, Fruit, Syrup (optional)

Method: Pour the oats into a bowl and add milk, put the oats into the fridge overnight so the oats soak up the milk, in the morning take it out and drizzle syrup on top for flavour, add fruits on top and your done.

Banana Pancakes

What you will need: banana, 2 eggs, other fruits; strawberries, blueberries (optional)

Method: Mash the ingredients together, pour it on a pan, cook them like pancakes, top with fruits like strawberries, blueberries ect...

Comment down below what one is your favourite if you try them

Chocolate Cookies

I realised that I hadn't blogged in a wee while so I have decided to share one of the best chocolate cookie recipes I have ever tried, this is a recipe from the amazing Tanya Burr's blog.
This recipe makes about 10 large cookies.

Ingredients:
  • 200g butter
  • 300g caster sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 275g self-raising flour
  • 75g cocoa powder
  • A dash of milk
  • A large bar of white, milk and dark chocolate
  • 3 Daim bars
Method

  1. Set your oven to 200 degrees Celsius (gas mark 6)
  2. Mix together your butter and sugar until a smooth consistency
  3. Add in your egg
  4. Add all the rest of your dry ingredients, add a dash of milk if the mixture is to dry
  5. Break up all of your chocolate, including the Daim bars, and add into the mixture
  6. Line 2 baking  trays with baking paper or foil
  7. Use your hands to separate the mixture into 10 blobs (or you can use an ice cream scoop to make slightly smaller ones if you are going to do this then of course you will get more cookies)
  8. Put your cookies into the oven for about 11 minutes. (when you take them out they will not look cooked)
  9. Leave them to cool down for about 30 minutes.

I hope if you make them then you will make them as much as I do xx

February

Hi guys I have had a very stressful couple of weeks due to studying for upcoming tests, having reports handed out and having to pick my options for next year. I just want to say to everyone out there that if you are at the stage in your life where you have to decide what subjects you want to take and how these will affect your future and career, just comment asking and I will try to help as much as I can. I know it can be stressful especially if you don't know what career path you want to go down, luckily for me I have known for about a year now what I want to do. If you have any ideas what you want to do then research all the qualifications that you need to be able to get into college or university.

New Year !!!

Happy New Year everyone. Sorry this is so late, I have been spending time with friends and family. To start off with I know I forgot to do a post about Christmas so lets just put them all together. Did you have a good Christmas? I hope Santa was good to you. The best thing about Christmas for me is watching friends and family open the presents I bought them. After you read this post tell me what you all got for Christmas, but enough about Christmas, how was your New Year? Did you all stay up to watch the fireworks, I did, actually I got to sleep at 5am and I had to get up at 8am that day, you don't understand how tired I was the next day. This year my New Years Resolution is to say yes to more things and to not spend as much money on rubbish and save it all up. I want to hear all your New Years Resolutions and if I like them then I might just use some of them for myself.
